I doubt many people are going to be reading this, but to whomever it may interest:
There's a thread over on the SteamPowered User Forums, under Suggestions/Ideas, echoing once again the age old skinning problems present in Valve's Steam 2010 UI update. You may be thinking that this doesn't affect you, but if you use PixelVision, or any other skin for Steam, this does directly affect you. And Valve have so far never commented on the issue.
If you've ever wondered why the installation of certain skins can be so painful or why you have to jump through so many awkward hoops for some things when configuring a skin (I'm particularly thinking of PixelVision's language fix here), this is why. The post that I'm about to link explains it quite thoroughly, and could give you a decent understand of why skinners do things the way they do, and even why some fancy suggestions are turned down due to the limitations of the skins folder since Steam v4 (2010 UI).
If these issues are fixed, skinning would become so much more flexible and versatile, and translate in a more seamless experience for the end user.
So if you ever feel like posting your thoughts or support in hope that Valve hears you out, here's the thread in question.
